Old Boys Cricket and Family Day

The sun (eventually) shone on the Old Cothillians Cricket and Family Day.

On June 30th, about 150 old boys, parents and familes joined George May, a Cothill team and staff for a day's cricket.  Whilst the cricket was provided by some carefully selected younger alumni, we were delighted that the old boys present came from a range of generations.  Old boys who enjoyed the return to school, represented school years back to the 1950s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s.

It was a rather chilly start to the day but the sun eventually won through and staff and guests were able to enjoy a delicious hog roast followed by strawberries and cream and Pimms jelllies and later, a traditional match tea in the warm sunlight that makes these days a particular pleasure.  We were so pleased that a number of our old boys brought their partners and children - the little ones, enjoying their own cricket along with the bouncy castles and trips to the woodwork room to meet PC.  As their fathers did, they were able to make and paint wooden cars as a souvenir of their day at Cothill.

We hope you enjoyed the day and look forward to welcoming you back to Cothill again soon.
